Repairs to the road between Llanbedr and Fforest Coal Pit (closed following a landslip) have started with site investigations for the proposed sheet piled wall being undertaken.
Powys County Council inform us:
“Spencer Quantum have been awarded the work to carry out 3 boreholes along the length of the failed wall. Works commence on Tuesday 7th May 2024 and will take around 1 week to complete.
There will be no traffic allowed to travel through the site during the works.
It is hoped the ground is relatively soft (with little rock) up to 12m deep so that sheet piling can be used as a permanent solution.“
Vale of Grwyney Community Council
