Dentist Provision in Crickhowell


Message from Powys Teaching Health Board:

MyDentist Crickhowell has served notice on their contract to provide NHS dental services from 30 June 2025. Plans are in place to begin a procurement process for a new provider imminently, and we will update you as this process progresses.

In the meantime, Powys residents can apply for NHS dental treatment by joining the NHS dental waiting list at pthb.nhs.wales/dap. After you join the NHS dental waiting list you will be offered NHS dental treatment as capacity becomes available. The health board also uses the NHS dental waiting list to invite patients for courses of treatment at our mobile dental clinic which is currently located at Bronllys Hospital (and is due to temporarily relocate to the Showground for the period of the Royal Welsh Show).

We continue to recommend that people join the NHS dental waiting list online via the Dental Access Portal at https://pthb.nhs.wales/dap wherever possible. For individuals without digital access our telephone helpline continues to be available on 01686 252808.

You can apply for a place on the NHS dental waiting list if:

  • You are not currently registered with an NHS dentist
  • And you have not had routine NHS dental treatment in Wales in the past four years (Your previous dental practice should be able to offer you an appointment if you have had treatment with them in the last four years.)
  • And you live at an address in Powys for more than six months of the year, or are registered with a GP in Powys.

In a dental emergency, please contact your dental practice directly for an emergency appointment. If you do not have a dentist, please call NHS 111 Wales for more information in a dental emergency.
