Message from The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner:
I am reaching out to you on behalf of the Home Office to ask if you could please complete the National Youth Agency’s (NYA) National Youth Sector Census and/or share with youth service organisations within your networks as appropriate in Wales.
The Home Office is working in partnership with the NYA to support the scoping of local youth provisionacross England & Wales as part of the Young Futures Programme Prevention Partnerships. The intention is to build national and local understanding of available youth services, identify gaps, standardise youth service provision mapping, minimise the burden on local areas to map services and create an informed, targeted, and strategic approach to commissioning youth services, ultimately improving the availability of support for children and young people.
All types of youth service organisation are welcome to complete the census including non-statutory support services and youth centres. Charities and organisations which provide services such as mental health support, addiction support or educational awareness workshops for children and young people, for example, on knife crime prevention or other topics, are also encouraged to fill in the census.
By responding to the census, organisations will not only improve the picture of youth provision in your area, they will also help drive forward work on the Young Futures Prevention Partnerships by building the Home Office’s understanding of youth provision across England and Walesat pace.
What’s the deadline?
- The deadline to complete the census is 30th June.
How do organisations complete the census?
