As part of the new housing development in Llanbedr, the planners required the Council to organise a fully constituted organisation to manage the area set aside in the plans for allotments.  The Llanbedr Allotments Association has now been formed with a Committee and newly agreed constitution.   Although it will be sometime before the first seeds are actually planted, the Association has already met with the developers and handed over a “wish list” of what they require to ensure a growing success of the plots when the time comes.  Work is currently underway to establish whether it would be possible to tap into the spring which is thought to run nearby, to provide water to the allotment plots rather than relying on expensive mains water.  The Association has already agreed, and enshrined in it’s Constitution, to manage the site as sustainably as possible, so a natural water source is a great starting point.
