Powys (South) BT Programme of intended public payphone removals
Powys County Council has informed the Community Council that BT Payphones have notified them of their intention to remove payphones in the South of the County. These include the payphones in Glangrwyney and Llangenny:
01873 810278 PCO KIOSK LLANGENNY CRICKHOWELL NP8 1HE
01873 810315 PCO CWRT Y GOLLEN CRICKHOWELL NP8 1XB
01873 810451 A40 POST OFFICE ROW GLANGRWYNEY NP8 1EG
The removal process is regulated by Ofcom and Powys County Council is the nominated Local Public Organisation that will receive responses from local communities for the consultation exercise.
Following the consultation the Council will forward recommendations to BT and the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport.
This consultation process also gives local communities the opportunity to adopt a traditional red ‘heritage’ phone box for just £1.
If you wish to submit a response for consideration please reference the relevant payphone number and location. Responses may agree the removal, object giving reasons, or indicate that the community wishes to adopt a kiosk for an alternative use.
The deadline to submit responses is Sunday 26 February 2017
