Following years of lobbying Welsh Government the Community Council was pleased when earlier this year traffic calming works were undertaken on the A40 in Glangrwyney and a pedestrian island constructed.

How effective the current measures prove will only be assessed over time however the Community Council believe additional measures, ie electronic speed signs, need to be provided to encourage drivers to stay within the 30 mph speed limit.  When the Council approached Welsh Government with this request it was informed a 3 year Speed Limit Review into road safety issues at over 600 sites on all trunk roads in Wales (including this section of the A40) is currently being undertaken and any works arising will be prioritised, as funding permits, over the next three to four years.

Whilst disappointed with this response the Community Council continues to monitor the position  and suggests if you witness dangerous driving or speeding in the village these concerns are reported to Go Safe, the Road Safety Partnership responsible for speed limit enforcement by clicking here
