It is with great sadness that we learnt at the Council meeeting of October 21st  of the sudden and unexpected death of Councillor Prytherch Rees.  Prytherch had been a Community Councillor for just over six years and had always been a voice of reason and a steadying influence on our deliberations.  The Councillors send their condolences to Prytherch’s family.

Prytherch was a most popular and well-known member of the local farming community and a member of many organisations including the FUW, Devon Cattle Society, Grassland Society and Grwyne and District Buying Group.  He will be remembered by friends, neighbours and colleagues as someone who was always willing to help if he could, indeed it appears he died whilst helping a fellow farmer in harvesting his maize.

Prytherch farmed at the Neuadd, Grwyne Fechan and Pen Prysg above Crickhowell.  His death at approaching 59 years of age comes as a shock.  He is survived by his wife Anne, a son and two daughters.
