We have just heard that work is due to start on the retaining wall and associated items at the start of January and is expected to last for around six weeks according to the Minister responsible, Edwina Hart. (of course the weather may have quite a say in that scheduling!! – Ed.)
The problems currently being caused by the collapsed wall on the A40 in Glangrwyney look set to continue for some time to come, despite intense lobbying by the Community Council and by County Councillor John Morris. Lib Dem AM Kirsty Williams has raised the matter in the Senedd but Edwina Hart, the Minister responsible for roads has said that whilst different proposals to solve the problem are being looked at there is currently no timescale for the work to commence. In the meantime please take extra care when driving through Glangrwyney. Any news on progress will be posted here as soon as we hear about it.
